2020 Themes & Story Ideas

Poland will be showcasing alternative sides to its iconic cities at the WTM as part of its 2020 campaign to encourage visitors to experience some of Europe’s most accessible and affordable city breaks. The Polish Tourism Organisation will also invite guests to learn more about the emerging food and drink scene in the country, with a focus on social media marketing in 2020. They will also be celebrating 210 years of Poland’s greatest musician, Frederic Chopin and promoting a string of new offerings for next year. www.poland.travel/en


Interview Opportunities & Meetings

Dorota Wojciechowska, Polish Tourism Organisation Head of Marketing will be joined by representatives from some of Poland’s most iconic cities to discuss 2020 trends and the rise in affordable, alternative city break destinations. Dr Robert Andrzejczyk, the Vice President of the European Travel Commission and President of the Polish Tourism Organisation will also be available to discuss the country’s overarching tourism strategy.

40 years, 40 prizes: Join the Polish Tourism Organisation for the ‘Poland Happy Hour’ featuring a huge prize giveaway to celebrate 40 years of WTM. The prizes range from weekend city breaks to luxury hampers, and guests will also get the chance to sample traditional Polish cuisine in addition to exciting trade announcements, press trips and media stories for 2020. Slovenia | Stand EU1800

2020 Themes & Story Ideas

One of Europe’s elite active tourism destinations, Slovenia will be showcasing the brand new Julian Alps Hiking Trail and its 280km of natural wonders to be found along the way. The circular route will include some of Slovenia’s most picturesque destinations including Kranjska Gora, Sava River, Soca Valley, Lake Bled, Bohinj and more. Slovenia will also be promoting its excellent culinary offerings after being awarded the prestigious title of 2021 European Region of Gastronomy, in addition to its world leading sustainable tourism offerings such as cycling, stand up paddle board tours, sustainable food tours, biological pools and bee-related wellness experiences. www.slovenia.info/en

Maja Pak, Director of the Slovenian Tourist Board will be available to interview to discuss new marketing campaigns and share strategy focus for Slovenia in 2020. In addition to new openings and tourism development announcements, Maja will provide an insight into Slovenia’s ongoing position as the benchmark for responsible tourism, award nominations and the future of tourism in Slovenia.

Slovenia will be hosting two exclusive media stand events during WTM, a luxury cuisine brunch and a gastronomy experience with one of the country’s top chefs, Uroš Štefelin. The events will bring together leading members of the tourism and food industry, to offer a unique insight into Slovenian cuisine, outdoor adventure news and opportunities to visit the European Region of Gastronomy 2021. CzechTourism | Stand EU1700

2020 Themes & Story Ideas

CzechTourism will be highlighting its wonderful cities and regions through the ‘Cities: Gateways to Regions’ campaign, as well as launching its ‘Year of Chateaux and Castles’ to promote the country’s rich cultural and historical offerings at the WTM. The aim is to encourage visitors to explore beyond the capital, Prague. CzechTourism will also be showcasing its two newest UNESCO World Heritage Sites, taking their total to 14, which is over twice the world average. Finally, CzechTourism will promote active tourism in the country including South Moravian wine trails and winter sports. www.czechtourism.com

Katarina Hobbs, Director of CzechTourism UK & Ireland is available to talk about 2020 marketing focuses ‘Chateaux and Castles’ and ‘Cities: Gateways to Regions’. She will also share how CzechTourism will encourage visitors to explore new UNESCO World Heritage Sites, active tourism hotspots and the 30 year anniversary of the Velvet Revolution.

Join CzechTourism and leading members of the travel industry for an evening of traditional Czech drinks and networking at The Porterhouse, Covent Garden to celebrate 30 years since the peaceful uprising that brought to an end 41 years of one-party communist rule in Czechoslovakia. Magnetic Latvia | Stand EU1771

2020 Themes & Story Ideas

Latvia will be showcasing new attractions, providing 2020 story ideas, trade opportunities and information on supporting FAM, press trips and influencer collaborations. During WTM, 2020 marketing campaigns and stories will also be announced on the stand. Wales Coast Path | Stand UKI100 (Visit Wales)

2020 Themes & Story Ideas

As part of Visit Wales product offering, the Wales Coast Path will be revealing 50 new itineraries for 2020. The itineraries cover one day to week-long tours of each of Wales’ seven coastal regions and focus on mindfulness, family walks and longer, more challenging hikes. During the WTM tour operators and agents will be given full access to the itineraries and opportunities to develop their own. In addition to this, the Wales Coast Path will be promoting its free augmented reality app, and a new water sports centre that establish South Wales as a 2020 hike to surf destination. www.walescoastpath.gov.uk

Famous for some of Britain’s most historic seaside resort towns, beaches and diverse coastal offerings, Visit Somerset will use the WTM to launch a new strategic initiative to revitalise and boost the economy along the county’s coastline. Somerset and Exmoor will also aim to showcase British farming and traditional food production techniques with the launch of a new food and drink campaign.
